HOW TO ACHIEVE TREMENDOUS CLARITY FOR YOUR BUSINESS IN 3 STEPS! Part I.

As always, I hope you AND your business are flourishing!

The last time we spoke, I promised a three-part series about how to achieve tremendous clarity for your biz and, as I stated last time, since there is NOTHING SMALL about your business – it is YOUR baby, YOUR dreams, YOUR devotion, YOUR sweat – the first step to achieving clarity begins with YOU.

If you didn’t get a chance to read that article, you can grab it here:

‘SMALL BUSINESS’ IS A MISNOMER

The truth is, though, only when you are crystal clear about your GOALS, your DREAMS, and WHY you are SWEATING & TOILING, can you truly take the steps you need to get where you want to be – successful! You must clarify, and commit, before you can conquer.

CLARIFY. COMMIT. CONQUER.™

Part 1, therefore, is Step 1.

Your calling & your passions —> your biz idea —> your business plan —> clear target audience —> financial success & personal fulfillment.

Let’s whittle it down to the beginning of the beginning. How do you determine your calling? Or even your passions? Many, many programs have been written, and many business consultants & coaches kept in business because this thing called a “calling” is a hot topic, and an important one. BUT- it truly comes down to one thing:

WHAT PUTS YOU IN FLOW?

Flow (sometimes called “The Zone”) is that state you sometimes find yourself in, when you’re immersed in something you’re doing & you have no concept of time – time absolutely flies. Suddenly you look up at the clock and three hours have gone by. You know that state?

What puts you there?

For me, it’s teaching and writing. I can start an article at 10:00 p.m. and look up and it’s 3:00 in the morning. I absolutely get lost in it. The same with teaching; an hour-long coaching session feels to me (and usually my clients, as well ;-)) like fifteen minutes have gone by! Why? Because of my passions. Even back in high school, I would write and rewrite English papers – many times into the wee hours of the morning – until I received a perfect 100%.

I have other passions – I love history, music, science – but my calling is writing & teaching/coaching. LOVE.

Think back. In what have you ALWAYS been engagingly lost? What has always THRILLED you? Things you liked to do as a child often offer the biggest clues to what your calling is.

Now, is your business aligned with your passions and your calling?

Do you spend 12, 15, 18 hours a day devoting yourself to & sweating over something that puts you into this glorious state of Flow?

Business components, mundane chores, and sometimes tedium, will not, of course, always light you on fire. As a business owner, you know that this is impossible. There are tasks that simply need to get done. A smile on your face would be great, but hey, well, you know…

BUT these tasks are more enjoyable when they are aligned with your calling & goals.

The MAIN MISSION of your business, the HEART OF YOUR BUSINESS PLAN, needs to be aligned with your loves, your passions, and your calling.

If it isn’t, it’s time to get to work. Get clear on what it is put you into Flow.

And . . . be on the lookout for Step 2 . . .
